We are delighted to welcome back The Budapest Café Orchestra for our next event.
Date: Thurs 25th June 2026
Celebrated for their vibrant performances and diverse musical programme, the ensemble brings together influences from across Europe and beyond.
Featuring some of the finest musicians and ensembles from around the world, local bands and grass roots community ensembles.
Classical, folk, jazz, pop, world music, opera, film and spoken word.

We need to raise more than £80,000 each year to keep this wonderful centre at Standedge open.

That doesn’t pay for staff or volunteers. Everything we do relies on your generous donations and support from audiences attending events.
Our ‘Future Stars’ programme supports excellence in music performance and has provided fine professional instruments to deserving young players.
Past recipients have gone on to lead in the National Childrens Orchestras, National Youth Orchestras, the Hallé Youth Orchestra and study at or be employed by some of the top Conservatoires including the Royal College of Music, London.
Please help us to continue to provide a space for creativity in our community.

Richard Marshall - Brass Techniques Workshop
Brass techniques workshop with Richard Marshall, one of the world’s truly great Cornet players.
One of the finest cornet players of his generation, he began playing the cornet at the age of nine and at just 19 was appointed principal cornet of the Grimethorpe Colliery Band, a position he held for 10 years. Today Richard is cornet tutor at the RNCM and Birmingham Conservatoire and, of course, principal cornet of the world famous Black Dyke Band, a position he has held since 2006.

From our home at North of England Centre for Music & Arts we provide instruments and lessons, run a Community Orchestra, Choirs, Wind Band, Big Band, Orchestral String Group, Ukulele Group, Jazz Improvisation and Music Theory Classes.
